The reality of life is that disasters can happen at almost any moment, and that they will almost ALWAYS happen at the worst possible moments, just ask Mr. Murphy. Disaster recovery and business continuity (DR/BC) plans are one way a business can prepare for those times. There are a few protocols business’ can follow to make sure their business can recover and continue to operate during difficult and/or desperate times.
Some recent examples of when a good Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plan were needed in El Paso are Storm 2006 and the freeze of 2010. In both instances, business were forced to deal with rolling black outs mandated by the city as well as network communication failures. If you found that perhaps your system was not running as it should have, the blackouts affected your servers up time or communicating with your staff was somewhat difficult or next to impossible then maybe it is time for you to consider a disaster recovery and business continuity plan assessment. If your company has a disaster recovery and business continuity plan in place but it may be outdated, give us a call and we can update your plan to make sure it fits your current operational needs.
